Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a space where clients work one-on-one with a therapist to gain personal insights into self, strengths and growth areas, and/or process things that have happened in their past or are currently happening in the present. After the initial intake session and having the chance to get to know you better, I will work to identify a path forward to address your specific goals while keeping in mind your personality, learning style, and other nuances to your particular life experience.

Anxiety * Depression * ADHD * Life Stage Transitions * Self Worth * Body Image * Self Compassion * Goal Setting * High Functioning Codependency * General Stress Management * Boundary Setting * Grief * Chronic Health Conditions

As a systems therapist, I also work with individual clients in managing your role and any dysfunction within the relationships (romantic, familial, friendships, work, etc.) you have with others outside of yourself. Building communication skills, learning to set boundaries, increasing emotional regulation, and addressing traits of high functioning codependency are some of the ways in which we address “relationship” concerns within the individual therapy space.

Couples Therapy

Combining our lives with a partner(s) can prove to be challenging - compromise is essential, forgiveness is paramount, and prioritizing each other is key - but those things are not always easy to do. We’re never going to be able to fully remove conflict/frustrations from your relationship, but my goal as your couples therapist is to change “well, at least when it’s good it’s good” to “when it’s bad it’s honestly not even that bad.”

My job is to help you learn how to:

  • communicate more effectively

  • understand each other’s needs

  • express love in a way that your partner can feel and receive

  • tolerate and navigate conflict efficiently

  • learn how to apologize sincerely and practice forgiveness

  • intentionally prioritize time for connection and fun

  • adjust to and accept differences in how you each operate

  • establish yourselves as teammates versus adversaries

Using techniques from proven approaches - including the Gottman Method and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) for Couples - as well as other relevant therapy approaches, we will address your specific goals for improving your relationship dynamic.

** The Prepare/Enrich Assessment is also available to those already married or in a long term committed relationship seeing to enrich their current relationship and understanding of one another **

Premarital Therapy

Marriage is a big commitment - and I want you to feel as in sync and prepared as possible! The Prepare/Enrich premarital assessment increases awareness and skill development related to the major components of sharing a life together like finances, intimacy, individual and joint stressors, religion (if applicable), parenting (if applicable), and more. This assessment and subsequent discussions and exercises to help get you and your partner on the same page are shown to reduce the risk of divorce by 31%!

The assessment can be tailored to different stages of relationships - dating couples can use the insights to inform how they move toward engagement and engaged couples will focus on alignment in marriage.

Each partner will individual participate in the assessment, and your partner will not see your answers. All answers come to me, and I review the assessment to guide our joint sessions together.
